I'm interested in exploring my subject. I am curious about why I am who I am and what causes the way I think now, and I try to find the answer to how to get along with myself by exploring my inner changes. By sorting out the photos I collected as materials for paintings, I tried to find out the changes in myself by recalling and re-enacting them and further exploring my ambivalence. Drawing gives me a way to think about the differences between myself and between the individual and the collective. As the philosopher Albert Camus said, “I realized then that a man who had lived only one day could easily live for a hundred years in prison. He would have enough memories to keep him from being bored." (The Stranger,1942)
In the current creative stage, I am committed to finding myself. I will first pay attention to the impact of my living environment on myself and, secondly, further analyze my emotions and psychology.
Why do I want to find myself so much? First of all, I think this is the most important goal in my life. Secondly, I find that I have never asked myself what I think. Most of what I do is to make my mother happy and make my classmates like me. Getting along with each other allows me to better integrate into society. I want to stop for a moment and look at myself and ask myself what I think.
