Research Festival Planning Statement
My work is closely tied to self-exploration, so I have decided to present my Research Festival project in the form of a magazine. I chose this format, firstly, because I am deeply drawn to the tactile and visual appeal of print media—it offers a unique and captivating experience. Secondly, the creative flexibility of the magazine format excites me and provides an ideal medium to encapsulate my research. This magazine serves as a diary of my self-exploration, offering a direct reflection of my research journey.
In the magazine, I will showcase key aspects of my work and core creations. Each section will highlight the main reasons influencing my artistic process, including emotional triggers, theoretical research background, and feedback from practical experiments. These annotations will help viewers better understand the logic and internal driving forces behind my creations. Additionally, I will include written analyses of the characteristics of my paintings, covering topics such as the use of watercolor, the expression of emotions, and the transformation of visual language, making the content of my work more accessible and comprehensible.
To enhance the immediacy of this exploration, I have also designed some draft layouts. These drafts convey my initial ideas, such as page arrangements, the interplay between images and text, and the rhythm of presenting the works. This project is not only a summary of my research but also a fresh attempt at engaging in artistic expression and self-dialogue.
